“…Regarding biological applications, metal complexes of the 14-membered tetraaza macrocyclic ligands directly relevant to the present study have been explored for their use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radioimmunotherapy (Norman et al, 1995;Konig et al, 1996). They are also useful in terms of their utility in pharmacological (Hollinshead & Smith, 1990), crystal engineering (Suh et al, 2006) and analytical (Singh et al, 1999) endeavours, and they have been found to have antifungal ( 2007) and (in some cases) potential anticancer properties (Arai et al, 1998;Gao et al, 2010). All the aforementioned potential applications have promoted strong sustained research on the subject and, in this respect, we refer the interested reader to a recent review accounting for a 50 year period of research on this type of compound (Curtis, 2012), where a large number of differently N-substituted (viz.…”

“…If the concentration of chromate has same value with the interfering ion (10 -3 M) and the K pot values less than 1, it means the electrode more selective to the chromate ion than interfering ion. The interfering effect of the ion was in the following order: CrO 4 2-> CH 3 COO -> H 2 PO 4 -> Cl -.…”

“…Ion selective electrode (ISE) is used as recognition elements (sensor). ISE offers several advantages, such as speed and ease of preparation and procedures, simple instrumentation, a relatively fast response, a wide dynamic range, reasonable selectivity and low cost [4][5][6][7]. Coated-wire ion selective electrode has possible for online analysis [8].…”

“…[1,2] In the realm of biological applications, metal complexes of compounds related to cyclam (14-membered tetraaza macrocyclic ligands) have been explored for their use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radioimmunotherapy. [3,4] They are also important for their applications in pharmacological, [5] industrial, [6] crystal engineering [7] and analytical [8] fields. Their importance also relates to their anti-fungal [9] and anti-bacterial [10,11] activities.…”
