Choosing a servicing company’s strategy while interacting with freight owners at the road transport market

Abstract: Purpose. To develop the methodology for choosing the strategies of freight forwarding companies in the situation of interaction with freight owners as customers of forwarding services. Methodology. The game-theoretical approach is used to formalize the conflict situation between a freight forwarding company and a cargo owner. A set of services proposed by forwarders is used as the base in order to represent possible strategies of a forwarder as the vector of probabilities that the respective services are pro… Show more

“…The chosen delivery scheme has a direct effect on the efficiency of the process of long-distance delivery of packaged cargo by road transport [40][41][42][43]. Only if the TTSD is selected from the complete set of alternatives is the scheme considered as the optimal one.…”

“…The wide range of simulation-based approaches to improve the performance of logistics systems are described in the literature [25][26][27][28]. The common method of improving the transportation system's efficiency is to optimize the technological operations in the multimodal transport hubs [28][29][30], but the approaches to optimizing operations for the whole delivery chain [26,[31][32][33][34] are also used as the solutions.…”

“…The following disciplines are considered to be closely related to transport sciences: (i) transport engineering with logistics-transport-packaging sub-disciplines [1][2][3][4][5], (ii) civil engineering [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13], (iii) mining and metallurgical engineering [11,12,14], (iv) urban, municipal and architectural engineering [15,16], (v) mechanical engineering [17][18][19][20][21], (vi) electrical engineering [7,[22][23][24][25][26], and (vii) vehicle engineering However, in reality, these fields often entirely overlap, or overlap to a lesser or greater extent.…”
