Elasmobranchs exhibit the biggest population declines among vertebrates, being considered one of the groups with the highest risk of extinction. The Brazilian Amazon Coast (BAC) is considered a priority area for elasmobranch conservation, as many species are endemic to the region, and most of them are threatened with extinction. The present study made a scientometric analysis using the IRAMUTEQ method (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires) to evaluate the trends of research with elasmobranchs in BAC in the last four decades. Ten research trends were identified, highlighting “Biodiversity”, “Reproduction”, “Trophic Ecology” and “Conservation”. However, most of the publications found are aimed at understanding the diversity and abundance of species in the region, with the number of studies focused on reproduction, feeding and other aspects of the biology and ecology of elasmobranchs in the BAC being less expressive. Although the research area “Conservation” stood out in the search, the amount of relevant information so that management and conservation measures can be implemented is still low. Lastly, despite following the global trend of studies with elasmobranchs between 2000 and 2010, investigations into the BAC need to advance, especially considering the poor level of basic information on most species (Biology and population dynamics) and the incomplete knowledge of specific composition of elasmobranch species in the entire area, aspects relevant to conservation and more applied studies that rely on more recent methodologies and technologies.

The rapid increase in the number of online resources and academic articles has created great challenges for researchers and practitioners to efficiently grasp the status quo of building energy-related research. Rather than relying on manual inspections, advanced data analytics (such as text mining) can be used to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness in literature reviews. This article proposes a text mining-based approach for the automatic identification of major research trends in the field of building energy management. In total, 5712 articles (from 1972 to 2019) are analyzed. The word2vec model is used to optimize the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) results, and social networks are adopted to visualize the inter-topic relationships. The results are presented using the Gephi visualization platform. Based on inter-topic relevance and topic evolutions, in-depth analysis has been conducted to reveal research trends and hot topics in the field of building energy management. The research results indicate that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) is one of the most essential topics. The thermal environment, indoor illumination, and residential building occupant behaviors are important factors affecting building energy consumption. In addition, building energy-saving renovations, green buildings, and intelligent buildings are research hotspots, and potential future directions. The method developed in this article serves as an effective alternative for researchers and practitioners to extract useful insights from massive text data. It provides a prototype for the automatic identification of research trends based on text mining techniques.

The Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering is a multidisciplinary journal, which provides a forum for a broad range of road and bridge engineering research. The topics such as the road and bridge research and design, the construction materials and technologies of roads and bridges, the construction financing and environmental issues, and the assessment management are included in the scope of the Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering investigation. Due to the reason that various road and bridge engineering related research directions are involved in this journal, it has become the first one that deals with the issues as mentioned above in Baltic countries. Therefore, it is believed that investigating the publications in the Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering assists researchers in great learning the development of road and bridge engineering research in Baltic countries. By analysing the annual publication distribution, the citation structure, the co-citation and cooperation networks, and the significant contributors in terms of countries and regions, institutions, cited journals and authors, the status of Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering is comprehensively presented. In addition, the emerging trends are revealed through the analyses of timeline view and burst detection. This study makes the contribution to the aspect of visualizing the complex and significant results based on objective and quantitative data. It provides readers with access to understand the development of Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering and helps researchers learn the hot issues in this journal clearly and directly.
