Chirally motivated K¯N amplitudes for in-medium applications

Abstract: A new fit of a chirally motivated coupled-channels model for meson-baryon interactions is presented including the recent SIDDHARTA data on the 1s level characteristics of kaonic hydrogen. The kaon-nucleon amplitudes generated by the model are fully consistent with our earlier studies. We argue that a sharp increase of the real part of the in-medium K − p amplitude at subthreshold energies provides a link between the shallowK-nuclear optical potentials obtained microscopically from thresholdKN interactions and … Show more

“…1 and 2 are different, providing thereby an interesting model dependence to explore. Real part of six K − N s-wave amplitudes used in the present work, taken from chiral SU(3) meson-baryon coupled-channel dynamical models discussed in [3] and denoted there by KM for Kyoto-Munich [16], P for Prague [17], M1 and M2 for Murcia [18], and B1 and B2 for Bonn [19]. Vertical dotted lines indicate threshold energies.…”

“…This has been demonstrated recently in Refs. [3,4,5] where inmedium K − N amplitudesF K − N constructed within the chirally motivated separable-interaction models of Cieplý and Smejkal (CS) [6,7] were used to evaluate V (1) K − . In particular, models TW1 and NLO30 from Ref.…”

“…In our calculations [4][5][6][7][8] we applied meson-baryon coupled-channel separable s-wave interactions by Cieplý and Smejkal [3,9] which are matched to equivalent chiral SU(3) scattering amplitudes derived from the chiral effective Lagrangian at up to next-to-leading order (NLO). Solving the coupled-channel Lippmann-Schwinger equations F = V + VGF with the potential kernels leads to a separable in-medium scattering amplitudes F i j , given in the two-body cm system by…”
