“…He demonstrated that since early 1980s, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS; formerly the State Statistical Bureau) began publishing detailed energy consumption statistics by sector, and provincial and national energy balances. These sets of energy statistics have been long been considered the best, most comprehensive source of national-level energy data for China, and they are the starting point for statistics published by many organizations (e.g., IEA, 2000;Sinton, et al, 2004;EIA, 2001;BPAmoco, 2001).
