Relevance. Chickenpox is one of the most common infections in Russia and retains a stable 2–3 place in the structure of infectious morbidity. The conditions of the closed adult community in the institutions of the penal correction system pose high risks for the occurrence of group cases of Chickenpox , and this disease in adults can pose a threat to life.Aims. Incidence rate of chickenpox among convicts detained in correctional institutions of the prison system of Lipetsk region in 2009–2018.Materials & Methods. The statistical data of the branch CGSN of the Federal Penitentiary Institution MCH-48 of the Federal Penitentiary System of Russia were to analyse the incidence of chickenpox by prisons in the penitentiary system of the Lipetsk Region for the period from 2009 to 2018.The materials of the study were forms of federal state statistical observation for 2009–2018. The method of retrospective epidemiological analysis was used. statistical data processing was performed using Microsoft Excel.Results. Cases of chickenpox among adults serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty of Lipetsk region are recorded annually. The incidence rates among prisoners are 2 times higher than among adults in the Russian Federation. Sources of infection were relatives and convicts, patients with herpes zoster. There are statistically significant differences in first-time and re-convicted morbidity (p < 0.05). More than half (73.6%) of the cases of chickenpox occur in autumn-winter. Between 2009 and 2018, group cases were recorded with 2 to 7 people involved in the epidemic process. Consequently, conditions exist in correctional facilities for the epidemic spread of chickenpox.Conclusions. In order to prevent the occurrence and development of group cases of disease, it is proposed to introduce vaccine prevention of persons who have not suffered from chickenpox in history.

Introduction. The causative agent of chickenpox is ubiquitous. In children, especially with a burdened premorbid background, there is a high incidence of severe forms and complications.Aim. To study the course of chickenpox in children in modern conditions.Material and methods. 58 pediatricians (group 1), 42 parents of children aged 0 to 3 years (group 2) and 43 parents of children aged 3 to 6 years (group 3) were surveyed.Results and discussion. In the 1st group, 224 children (73.68%) had a long period of rashes, 57 children (18.75%) had a mild and not long period. At the age of 16, unvaccinated children first fell ill with chickenpox. In 23 patients (7.57%), there were obvious clinical manifestations of chickenpox with a pronounced and prolonged intoxication syndrome. In 67.43%, a positive Mantoux test was recorded with an increase in papule and corolla of hyperemia in dynamics. The development of complications significantly more often (p = 0.0429) was recorded in the group of children with aggravated premorbid background. All pediatricians are positive about vaccination. In the 2nd group, out of 37.5% of parents who are against vaccination, 16.67% believe that the vaccine does not always have a positive effect on the health of the child. The ineffectiveness of vaccines is recognized by 45.83% of respondents. 40.47% of children have not been vaccinated and they do not have vaccination certificates. In the 3rd group, 32.56% of children were ill with chickenpox, of which 79.07% had a mild form of the disease. 67.44% have a positive attitude towards vaccination against chickenpox. The coverage of all vaccines according to the National calendar was 100%.Conclusion. Chickenpox is a serious unsafe infectious disease that requires specific prophylaxis.

Introduction. Chickenpox is one of the most common infectious diseases in childhood. It is considered a benign disease, but both children and adults can lead to the development of serious complications.Purpose: to study the epidemiological and clinical features of chickenpox in children aged 0–17 years, hospitalized in the Krai government-owned publicy funded health care institution “City clinical hospital No. 11, Barnaul”, for the period 2008–2018.Materials and methods. The materials of the study were data from statistical reporting forms No. 2 of the Federal state statistical observation “Information on infectious and parasitic diseases” in Barnaul for 2008–2018, and medical archive documentation of the children’s infectious diseases Department of the Krai government-owned publicy funded health care institution “City clinical hospital No. 11, Barnaul” for the same period. Data processing was performed using calculation of intensive and extensive indicators, calculation of the arithmetic mean (X) and standard error of the average (m). Calculations were made using the STATISTICA-10 program.Results. The incidence of chickenpox is consistently high, and children aged 3 to 6 years dominated the structure of hospitalized patients with the diagnosis of «chickenpox». All patients were not vaccinated against this infection. Patients developed complications due to the layering of secondary bacterial flora. Summary. Chickenpox is an infectious disease that can be severe, especially in patients with a heavy premorbid background. There is a tendency to” grow up” the infection, which emphasizes the need to discuss specific prevention of the disease.
