Abstract

Synthesis and Reactions of 2-Methylenecanrenone.-Starting from the Mannich salt (III) of the aldosterone antagonist canrenone (I), the title compound (IV) and a variety of A-ring annulated hetero-and carbocyclic analogues such as (VI) or (VIII) are prepared.
