ChemInform Abstract: Reduction of V2O5. Part 1. Reduction by Carbon Monoxide.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract The final product of the reduction of V2O5 by CO is V2O3, while V6O13 and VO2 are observed to be formed as intermediates. The kinetics can be described by the Avrami-Erofeev equation with n = 4 for V2O5 powder samples and n = 2 for platelets. The reaction starts on the surface and then moves towards the center of the V2O5 crystal (DAT, TG, powder XRD, electron and optical mocroscopy).
