Abstract

Reactions of Theophyllines. Synthesis of 8-Trimethylammoniotheophyllinate.-Reaction of the acetyl-or phosphorylbromotheophylline (I) with trimethylamine (II) or the bromotheophylline (IV) with (II) in the presence of diphenyl chlorophosphate produces the trimethylammoniotheophyllinate (III). Consecutive treatment of (IV) with (II) and the benzoyl chlorides (V) gives the amino(aroyl) theophyllines (VI).
