Abstract:This straightforward protocol provides access to modified steroids containing fused pyrrole or thiazole nuclei in addition to the pharmacophoric features of the steroid moiety. Dihydrothiazolyl-hydrazonoprogesterone (IIIb) and aminopyrrolylprogesterone (VIa) display anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive, and anti-ulcerogenic activity with various intensities.
