187ChemInform Abstract The N-dipropynylpyrimidoquinolinedione (I) rearranges upon heating with formic acid to give the imidazoquinoline (II). Similar ring closure processes take place with the benzonaphthyridine (III) or with the aminopyridine (V), yielding the fused imidazoles (IV) and (VI) or (VII).
