Chemical composition of Vitex agnus-castus L. flowers collected from populations distributed in Aydin, Türkiye

Abstract: Essential oils (EOs) are compounds that are biosynthesized autonomously by aromatic plants as their secondary metabolites. Vitex agnus-castus plant leaves, flowers and fruits are of pharmacological importance. In this study, the chemical composition determination of the essential oils of the Vitex agnus-castus flowers with different colors (white, pink, purple) growing in Aydin ecological conditions was carried out with the extraction using Clevenger hydro-distillation apparatus and then the essential oil comp… Show more

“…[47] Additionally, further research is required to evaluate the potential of bioactive chemicals' antimicrobial effectiveness expressed in VAC. [48] Cytotoxicity effects were observed in L929 fibroblast cells at 2.5-0.15 mM concentrations. The viability in HeLa cell at 2.5 mM concentration was calculated as 63.4 % 7.6 %.…”
