“…Kewda shrub grows up wild in Ganjam district, Odisha, and its flower processing is a flourishing village industry generating several thousands of man‐days of work . Although found to spread out to several places in India, the plentiful and gregarious growth is concentrated along the coastal belt of Ganjam district contributing 85–90% of country's kewda essence production . It is estimated that kewda grows in about 5000 ha area, and around 40 million flowers costing more than $5 million are processed annually in about 70 coastal villages of this district.…”
