“…(−)‐Carvone can be obtained from the extraction and purification of the essential oil of Mentha spicata (spearmint); (+)‐carvone can be found in the essential oils of Carum carvi (caraway) and Anethum graveolens (dill) . Jasmatone, a cyclopentanone derivative with a ‐C 6 H 13 alkyl substituent, is present in the essential oil of Anisomeles indica Kuntze . Lastly, two other branched substrates with similar structures were tested on the selected BVMOs: isophorone, which is prepared by aldol condensation of acetone, and its hydrogenated counterpart, 3,3,5‐trimethylcyclohexanone.…”

“…Subsequent studies report that nootkatone is isolated from peel oil of citrus plants such as grapefruit, oranges, and lemons and also found in plants of Vetiveria zizanioide s, C. rotundus , Hesperotropsis leylandii , Juniperus chinensis , Daphne oleoides subsp. oleoides , and Anisomeles indica Kuntze . Currently, the commercial production of nootkatone mainly relies on the extraction from grapefruit peels.…”

“…It can inhibit spore germination and mycelial growth of P. ramorum . In a study by Basappa et al, A. indica Kuntze essential oil (the major components being 10.67% farnesyl acetone, 8.35% nootkatone, and 7.81% jasmatone) showed strong antifungal activity against A. flavus , with MIC values of 0.66 μL mL –1 . Furthermore, the oil at a concentration of 0.66 μL mL –1 was discovered to inhibit Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) production in A. flavus , showing the antiaflatoxigenic property.…”

“…Cyclopentadecanolide were tested for genotoxicity, the results show that it is not genotoxic [ 4 ], and it has been approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of America for use in food [ 5 ]. Cyclopentadecanolide exists in many plants [ 6 , 7 ], but its content is very low, this is difficult to extract and separate cyclopentadecanolide from natural plants. The commercialization cyclopentadecanolide mainly comes from chemical synthesis methods.…”
