“…The chromatographic analysis of the polyphenolic compounds was accomplished by reversed phase (C18) high-performance liquid chromatography using an Ultimate 3000 HPLC (Dionex, Sunnyvale, California, USA), equipped with Ultimate 3000 pump and column compartment, a WPS-3000 TSL Analyt auto sampler and a PDA-100 UV-visible photodiode array detector. 48 Compound separation was achieved by gradient elution on an ACE 5 C18 column, 5 μm particle size (250 mm × 4.6 mm) (Advanced Chromatography Technologies, Aberdeen, Scotland), and the analysis conditions were set with solvent A (95:5 water : formic acid (v/v)), solvent B (methanol), and a linear gradient analysis for a total run time of 80 min used as follows: starting from 5% solvent B during 2 min, increasing to 80% solvent B over 68 min, isocratic for 8 min, decreasing to 5% solvent B over 2 min, and last isocratic for 5 min. The sample volume injected was 50 μL, the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, and the column temperature was maintained at 30 ∘ C. The eluent was continuously monitored from 200 to 600 nm with a photodiode array detector (PDA-100, Dionex).…”

“…T. carnosus decoction and hydroethanolic extracts, mainly including rosmarinic acid ( 71 ) and salvianolic acid K ( 76 ), reduced the viability of three cancer cell lines MCF‐7, BT‐474 and RAW 264.7. And hydroethanolic extracts showed higher activity . The essential oil from T. citriodorus leaves had strong toxic effects on HepG2 cells with the IC 50 value 0.34 % and the induced apoptosis mechanism might be associated with the expression of NF‐ κ B .…”

[119] The extracts from T. quinquecostatus CELAK had antitumor activities against mice transplanted S180 tumor cells and they might have some influences on immunity.…”

“…The possibility to administer these natural products either as oral or as an active ingredient in topical formulations is an advantage. Over centuries, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-aging properties have been attributed to plants and their components [133][134][135][136].…”
