“…In a similar experiment, elements in nickel super-alloys were determined by GD-MS with the relative sensitivity factors generated from certified iron matrix reference materials. 53 Concentration values from GD-MS were in agreement from values obtained by wet chemical techniques. GD-MS was also applied to the trace element determination and depth profiling of thin copper films.…”

“…Selenium species [Se(IV) and Se(VI)] were estimated in tube-well water samples by ion chromatography coupled with ICP-MS and also by a UV-assisted vapor generation combined with a sensitive "collect and punch"-ICP-MS method. Similarly, the possibility of using moss (Funaria hygrometrica), immobilized in a polysilicate matrix as the substrate for speciation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in various water samples was studied by using ICP-MS. [376][377][378][379][380][381][382][383][384][385][386][387][388][389][390] The "collect and punch" cold vapor ICP-MS method was also developed for the direct determination of mercury at nanograms per liter levels. 391 An ultrasound-assisted extraction procedure for the fast estimation of major, minor and trace elements in lichen and mussel samples was developed and ICP-MS was used to estimate elements such as Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ge, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Zr, Ag, Cd, In, Sb, Cs, Ba, Pb and Bi.…”

“…In a search for a cost-effective alternative to HR GDMS for the analysis of superalloys used in advanced aero-engines, Shekhar et al 181 used dc GDMS with a quadrupole analyser to determine trace impurities in nickel. The RSF were determined using NIST SRM 1761 and 1762 (low steel alloys).…”
