Checklist of Hymenomycetes (Aphyllophorales s.l.) and Heterobasidiomycetes in Israel

Abstract: A checklist is presented concerning the species composition of Hymenomycetes (Aphyllophorales s.l.) and Heterobasidiomycetes in Israel based on data of previous studies and field sample collections. In total, 242 species are presented, of which five are new records for the Israeli mycobiota, namely Australohydnum dregeanum, Ceriporiopsis consobrina, C. resinascens, Fibroporia vaillantii, and Postia inocybe. The distribution and habitat of each species in Israel are also summarized. This checklist will serve as… Show more

“…The molecular comparison (nITS rDNA sequence) of our specimen with those available in GenBank (Boudagga et al 2017;Hashemi et al 2017) confirmed the identification. As far as we know, and despite a number of records for Asia and Africa (Karsten 1887;Salem and Michail 1980;Dai 2010;Ţura et al 2010;Boudagga et al 2017;Hashemi et al 2017), no indication of this species for Europe has been reported, so far. Pluteus semibulbosus is an agaricoid, lignicolous, saprotrophic fungus, showing pileate and stipitate basidiomata.…”

“…& Broome from Sri Lanka in synonymy; see below for further discussion of these two taxa. Although A. dregeanum has since been reported from India ( De, 1998 , as Oxyporus vellereus ), South Korea ( Lim, 2001 ; Lim and Jung, 2003 ), New Zealand ( Buchanan and Ryvarden, 2000 ), Portugal ( Melo and Hjortstam, 2002 ), Israel ( Ţura et al, 2011 ), and Italy ( Saitta et al, 2014 ), the basidiospore size, when given, is significantly smaller than the African collections.…”
