New physicochemical data for trans-perfluorodecalin (trans-PDF) and cis-perfluorodecalin (cis-PFD) are presented. Based on the differential scanning calorimetry, the temperature and heat of the solid−liquid phase transition are determined. The coefficients of Antoine’s equation are calculated based on the experimental temperature–pressure dependence data. This article also presents data on the rheological properties («zero» shear viscosity and apparent activation energy for the viscous flow) of the studied compounds. The dependencies of refractive index and excess volume (density) on temperature are studied. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry data and FTIR, 13C NMR, and 19F NMR spectra are provided. The dependencies are given for the perfluoro(butylcyclohexane) (BCH)–trans-PFD, BCH–cis-PFD, and trans-PFD–cis-PFD binary systems and BCH–trans-PFD–cis-PFD ternary system: refractive index and density (liquid molar volume and excess molar volume) of composition and temperature. The dependences of the excess molar volume on the composition and temperature of the mixtures are correlated with Redlich-Kister and Kohler equations.

SummaryDensity, ultrasonic velocity and viscosity of some vanillin Schiff bases derivatives have been studied in methanol and tetrahydrofuran (THF) at 308.15 K. From the experimental data, various acoustical parameters such as isentropic compressibility (κ s ), Rao's molar sound function (R m ), Van der Waals constant (b), relaxation strength (r), intermolecular free length (L f ), apparent molar compressibility, etc. have been evaluated, which helps in understanding the molecular interactions occurring in these solutions.Keywords: Vanillin Schiff bases, ultrasonic Study, acoustical parameters, methanol, THF. Natchimuthu et al.: Oxygen Enrichment through PerfluorodecalinLennox-Gastaut syndrome is commonly characterized by a triad of features including multiple seizure types, intellectual disability or regression. The long-term prognosis for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome is generally poor due to uncontrolled seizures. Lennox-Gastaut syndrome type of seizures is epilepsy which is due to abnormal vibrations occurring in seizures. During the time of such abnormal vibrations, both the seizures and the lungs suffer a lack in oxygen content to a considerable extent. This results in prolonged vibrations and loses of nervous control. As a neuro-lung protective strategy, a novel attempt has been made to enrich both seizures and lungs with oxygen content through the support of perfluorodecalin (an excellent oxygen carrier) C 10 F 18 along with an enhancement in the antiepileptic activity by the two chosen antiepileptic drugs carbamazepine and benzodiazepine. The ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, fluorescence spectrograph, ultrasonic laser diffraction and scanning electron microscope studies reveals the co-existence of fluorine and drug in the emulsion produced by the sonication of both perfluorodecalin and the drug together. The presence of adequate fluorine and carbon play a catalytic role in ensuring the oxygen content and the antiepileptic activity of drug components.
