The advancement in technological innovation has given rise to a new trend known as Big Data today. Given the soaring popularity of big data technology, organisations are profoundly attracted to and interested in it to transform their organisation by improving their businesses. Big data is enabling organisations to outpace their competitors and save cost. Similarly, the application of Big Data management in Universities is an essential aspect to institutions that have Big Data to manage; as the use of Big Data in the higher education sector is increasing day by day. Many studies have been carried out on big data and analytics with little interest in its management. Big Data management is a reality that represents a set of challenges involving Big Data modeling, storage, and retrieval, analysis, and visualization for several areas in organizations. This paper introduces and contributes to the conceptual and theoretical understanding of Big Data management within higher education as it outlines its relevance to higher education institutions. It describes the opportunities this growing research area brings to higher education as well as major challenges associated with it.

The mobile industry is developing and preparing to deploy the fifth-generation (5G) networks. The evolving 5G networks are becoming more readily available as a significant driver of the growth of IoT and other intelligent automation applications. 5G’s lightning-fast connection and low-latency are needed for advances in intelligent automation—the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), driverless cars, digital reality, blockchain, and future breakthroughs we haven’t even thought of yet. The advent of 5G is more than just a generational step; it opens a new world of possibilities for every tech industry. The purpose of this paper is to do a literature review and explore how 5G can enable or streamline intelligent automation in different industries. This paper reviews the evolution and development of various generations of mobile wireless technology underscores the importance of 5G revolutionary networks, reviews its key enabling technologies, examines its trends and challenges, explores its applications in different manufacturing industries, and highlights its role in shaping the age of unlimited connectivity, intelligent automation, and industry digitization.

Background: Even though it is well documented in the academic domain, including various English dictionaries, that data and information are not the same thing, with the latter being a refinement of the former, many people within organisations and academic environments continue to loosely and interchangeably use these terms. This is a challenge that extends to the enterprise architecture discipline, which has an impact on how the domains of data and information architectures are defined, developed and implemented in many organisations. Objectives:The challenge leads to misunderstanding of both technical and business requirements, as well as confusion about the differentiation between data and information architectures. This challenge affects the accomplishment of either data or information in an organisation. This is caused by the fact that data is referred to as information, meaning it has been refined, which is incorrect, and therefore affects requirements. Additionally, this challenge influences the organisational structure and the development of employees' career. Thus, the objective of this study was to examine the implication of practice in the loose and interchangeable use of the terms, 'data' and 'information', within an organisation.Method: Based on this objective, the interpretivist stance was employed in the study. Qualitative data was gathered and the hermeneutics approach was employed in the analysis.Results: From the analysis, a solution is proposed to halt further misconstruction of the architectures, and avoid the confusing challenges it has for organisations. Conclusion:The study reveals what we need to know about the confounded confusion between data and information architectures. The differentiation between the two concepts can be of importance to professionals in the field of information systems and technologies as well as academics.
