“…La accesión resistente fue S. berthaultii que dentro de sus cualidades presenta densos tricomas glandulares en la superficie adaxial (12 tricomas/mm 2 ) y abaxial (7 tricomas/mm 2 ) de hojas; además de sugerir que esta característica pueda ser la responsable de la reducción de la fecundidad y supervivencia de B. cockerelli. Diversos artículos mencionan la resistencia de diferentes especies silvestres de tomate a diversas taxas de artrópodos fitófagos (lepidópteros, hemípteros y ácaros) con base en el efecto antibiótico y antixenótico ocasionado por los tricomas glandulares foliares, principalmente del tipo IV y VIc y a los aleloquímicos que contienen (Eigenbrode et al, 2019;Savi et al, 2019;Garzón-Tiznado et al, 2020;Wang et al, 2021;Paudel et al, 2022;Almeida et al, 2023).
