“…6 To seek countermeasures against fretting damage in the dovetail joints of gas turbine engines, a soft CuAl alloy coating prepared by atmosphere plasma spraying (APS) has been used as a palliative for the reason that as-sprayed CuAl alloy coating could act as a solid lubricant by lowering friction at the contact surface and then alleviate fretting fatigue. 7,8 During spraying, CuAl alloy powder is injected into the ionized gas and intensely heated to form molten or semi-molten droplets that are accelerated and crashed onto a preheated coarsened surface generating lamellar structure during the spread and solidification of droplets. Benefiting from the ultrahigh cooling rate of molten droplets in APS technology, which can reach up to 10 6 K/s, 9 the brittle 00 phase can be avoided, which is often inevitable in other processes (such as cast or wrought) due to limited cooling rate.…”

“…Many studies show that using surface protection technology to pretreatment the surface of components is an effective way to alleviate fretting damage [6][7][8]. Electroless plating as a kind of surface protection technology with the feature of well adaptable, easy to operate, good dense of coating and higher hardness has been widely used [9].…”
