Characterization of Copolymer Based in Polyurethane and Polyaniline (PU/PANI)

Abstract: The present work describes the synthesis and characterization of polyurethane (PU), polyaniline (PANI) and three IPNs (90/10, 80/20, 70/30) ratios were characterized by Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) to analyze the generated functional groups of the synthesis. The combination PU/PANI was accomplished through the interconnection of the two polymers via condensation of PU prepolymer terminal NCO groups and the amine groups of PANI. DMA studies indicated that the PU had higher glass transitiontemperatures (T… Show more

“…These results are confirming the interaction between PU and SWCNT-PANI coreshell. Besides, the shift of carbonyl peak from 1,735 cm 21 to 1,710 cm 21 substantiated the formation of hydrogen bond between the PU and core-shell [30,[53][54][55]. From the FTIR analysis, it is evident that there is an interaction between PU and the SWCNT-PANI core-shell to form homogenous SWCNT-PANI/PU polymer composites without any phase separation, which was further confirmed by SEM analysis.…”

“…Besides, quinonoid and benzenoid ring vibrations appeared at 1,580 and 1,495 cm ‐1. 44 Nquinoid ringN related peaks were observed at 1,160 cm ‐1. 45 The appeared peak at 3,322 cm −1 in both PPD and PPVD is related to the NH and OH groups; besides, the observed peak at 1,610 cm −1 belongs to OH, which is an indication of coating the surface with PDA 41,46 .…”

“…16,31 In Fig. 1(2), new absorption peaks appeared at 1628 cm À1 , which correspond to C]C stretching vibrations 32 and another peak at around 1701 cm À1 associated to C]O groups of the monomer. 16,33 Also, adsorption bands at 693, 890 and 1410 cm À1 were assigned to vibrations of epoxide rings of the GLYMO molecule.…”
