“…In addition to these intact proteins, various immunoglobulin fragments have been reported [3,4,6,11,12,28,30]. Intact IgM has not been detected in normal urine although IgM fragments have recently been demonstrated in human urine following strenuous exercise [23].…”

“…It was probable that eluates of cortex homogenates included 'y-globulin derived from one or more of these loci, depending on the kidney specimens under study. Tubular protein casts might be considered a source of the eluted reactive globulin, inasmuch as y-globulinuria is a common finding in lupus nephritis (13), and antinuclear activity has been demonstrated in concentrated urine specimens (13,14). However, acid washing of kidney specimen sections performed in a manner similar to the elution procedure was found not to diminish the extent of fluorescent staining of yG-globulin in tubular casts, whereas in the same sections staining was markedly diminished or abolished in glomeruli.…”

“…Previous investigators have demonstrated antibody activity in urine associated with low molecular weight gamma globulins, IgG and IgA (34)(35)(36). Vosti and Remington demonstrated that the anti-O antibody in the urine of previously infected patients was exclusively IgG (37).…”
