“…The second highest health risk was associated with indoor PCM exposure whose median HQ values via dust ingestion to the adults and children (3.1 × 10 −7 and 3.22 × 10 −6 , respectively) were in the same order of magnitude as previously reported (1.24 × 10 −7 and 1.41 × 10 −6 , respectively). 39 Although all HI values were much lower than risk thresholds, the potential health risks of these contaminants to the children via inhalation, ingestion, and dermal contact were 2.1, 10.3, and 3.5 times, respectively, greater than those to the adults. The overall risk was within acceptable limits; however, the children may be exposed to a much higher risk than the adults due to their low body weight and frequent hand-to-mouth contact.…”
