“…These profiles revealed that the isolated virus could be identified to salmonid herpes virus type 2. Several herpesviruses were reported from salmo nid fish, e. g., NeTVA from kokanee, Oncorhynchus nerka (Sano, 1976), OMV from masu salmon, O. masou , YTV from basal cell tumor tissue of masu salmon (Sano et al, 1983), H-83 from masu salmon (Hayashi et al, 1986), OKV from freshwater reared coho salmon, (Horiuchi et al, 1989), COTV from tumor tissue of coho salmon , CSLV from fresh water reared coho salmon (Kumagai et al, 1991)*1, CSTV from tumor tissue of maricultured coho salmon (Sano, 1988;Igari et al, 1991) in Japan, and Herpesvirus salmonis from rainbow trout, O. mykiss (Wolf et al, 1978) and steelhead herpesvirus from steelhead trout, O. mykiss (Hedrick et al, 1986) in North America. According to these reports, all of those Japanese isolants were neutralized by anti -OMV or anti-NeVTA serum.…”
