“…These resistances (MDR, PDR and XDR) in isolates circulating in the cities of Burkina Faso could be due by the expression of resistance genes of the bla and mecA types carried by mobile and transferable genetic elements between cells of the same or different species described previously by several authors [11,13,14,37,38]. The transfer of resistance genes between isolates depends on the type of ecosystem and the mode of transfer [39][40][41][42][43].…”

“…coli ‐producing CTX‐M‐15, CTX‐M‐55, CTX‐M‐14, CTX‐M‐3, CTX‐M‐65, CTX‐M‐9, CTX‐M‐27, CTX‐M‐125, and CTX‐M‐2. The predominant vehicles of fosA3 are IncFII plasmids including F2:A‐:B‐, F33:A1:B1, and F33:A‐:B‐ (Baron et al, 2020; Benzerara et al, 2017a; Lupo et al, 2018; Mendes et al, 2016). IncF plasmids are limited by host range to the family of Enterobacteriaceae and are usually low copy number plasmids >100 kb in size (Carattoli, 2013).…”

“…Of the 21 randomly selected isolates, one plasmid (IncF33:A‐:B‐) contained the resistance determinants bla CTX‐M‐55 , bla TEM‐1b‐like, and fosA and was highly similar to a plasmid from an E . coli of chicken origin in China (Baron et al, 2020).…”

“…The bla CTX – M –1 /IncI1-Iγ/ST3 plasmid is epidemiologically relevant, as it has been recovered in E. coli isolates from numerous animal and human sources in several countries in Europe, Asia and North America ( Zurfluh et al, 2015 ; Baron et al, 2020 ; Moffat et al, 2020 ), indicating its significant role in the worldwide spread of bla CTX – M –1 genes ( Carattoli et al, 2021 ). Furthermore, bla CTX – M –1 /IncI1-Iγ/ST3 plasmids quasi similar to those found in E. coli from Guadeloupe (reference pEC405) were described in E. coli isolates from France recovered from four river samples and two chicken fecal samples, demonstrating its fitness, which contributes to its persistence in E. coli communities and its geographical spread.…”
