Characterisation and compressive properties of highly porous palladium materials fabricated by spark plasma sintering with silicon as spacer

Abstract: In the present study, highly porous bulk Pd has been prepared by spark plasma sintering using silicon as a spacer material. The effects of the Si contents and sintering temperatures on the resultant porous materials were studied. It has been found that the porosity of porous Pd can be controlled by varying the content of Si, and their maximum porosity values reached 90%.
