Centrality dependence of kaon yields inSi+Aand Au+Au collisions at relativistic energies

Abstract: Charged kaon production has been measured in Si+Al and Si+Au collisions at 14.6A GeV/c, and Au+Au collisions at 11.1A GeV/c by Experiments 859 and 866 (the E-802 Collaboration) at the BNL AGS. Invariant transverse mass spectra and rapidity distributions for both K + and K − are presented. The centrality dependence of rapidity-integrated kaon yields is studied. It has been pointed out in [40] that the K − K + ratio increases with the energy from about 0.15 at low AGS energy [44][45][46][47][48][49][50] to about 0.5 at SPS energy [51,52] and reaches about 0.9 at RHIC energy [40].
