“…However, the peaks in the range of 2 θ = 15–18° characterize the samples amorphous region. Bravo et al and Xu et al [ 80,85 ] reported similar results. In the DAC XRD pattern (Figure 4b); both peak intensity and crystallinity index increased compared to those of (MCC).…”

“…As mentioned in our recent works, [ 12,13,15 ] the FTIR spectrum of (MCC) (a) illustrated in Figure 3a exhibits characteristic peaks: C–O–C glycosidic ether bands at 1105 cm −1 , CH 2 rocking vibrations at 1315 cm −1 , OH stretching frequencies at 3200 cm −1 , and C–C ring breathing at 1053 cm −1. [ [ 15,80 ] ] In addition, the methylene group stretching was observed at 2900 cm −1 and water molecule presence at 1648 cm −1 . [ 13 ] As it is well known, the periodate oxidation reaction led to a specific cleavage of the C2—C3 bond in (MCC), resulting in the generation of active aldehyde groups in the polymeric chain.…”

“…However, the results show that BC has the lowest crystallinity index of 44.1% compared to both commercial celluloses. This may be due to the different source of cellulose that can affect the crystallinity index or the extraction process [ 27 ]. It is expected that the crystallinity of the excipient could affect the properties of the tablet.…”

“…Using innovative materials such as cellulose particles [29], graphene-based nanomaterials and zeolite [30] with high VOC adsorbent capacity represents another approach for gas pollutant removal. These types of adsorbents can reduce their capacity when they reach the saturation point or the adsorption equilibrium.…”
