Cassava (Manihot esculenta) dual use for food and bioenergy: A review

Abstract: Cassava is an important food crop with an average consumption of 50 kg/capita/year in Africa (FAO, 2018). The global cassava production stands at slightly over 11 tonnes per hectare. Over 63% of the 303 million tonnes produced globally in 2019 was from Africa (FAO, 2019).
