Abstract:The purpose of this study was to describe a case of conjunctival melanoacanthoma, an exceedingly rare condition that has yet to be fully described in the literature.Methods: Melanoacanthomas are most commonly seen on the skin or oral mucosa and are believed to result from local irritation or trauma. A 34-year-old Hispanic man presented with a painless, solitary, pigmented conjunctival lesion, in addition to bilateral pterygia suggesting chronic solar damage.
