Abstract: TX 7508 3-3836, U.S.A., fax 01-972-952-9435. AbstractHistorically, Fruitland coal wells in the Tiffany area of the San Juan basin have to be hydraulically fractured to be economical. The need for artificial stimulation is that the Tiffany area coals are characterized by lower permeability than the coals in the San Juan basin "fairway" to the south.
