Case-control studies in neurosurgery

Abstract: Object Observational studies, such as cohort and case-control studies, are valuable instruments in evidence-based medicine. “…Case-control studies were defined according to Breslow and Day [4] as: "…an investigation into the extent to which persons selected because they have a specific disease (the cases) and comparable persons who do not have the disease (the controls) have been exposed to the disease's possible risk factors to evaluate the hypothesis that one or more of these is a cause of the disease."
