Carriers for drugs and enzymes based on copolymers of allyl glycidyl ether with acrylamide

Abstract: Copolymerization of acrylamide with ally1 glycidyl ether yielded water soluble polymers containing an epoxy group; addition of a crosslinking agent, ~,N'-methylenebis(acryl~de), to the copolymerization mixtures resulted in the formation of similar though water insoluble polymers. Condensation of a potent beta-adrenergic antagonist Alm-H, which contains a reactive amino group, with a polymer containing an epoxy group yielded a pharmacologically active polymer. The polymer containing the epoxy group was also con… Show more

“…12 To obtain a ligand for the precise and sensitive monitoring of the progesterone receptor, we have synthesized several iodinated analogues of 19-nortestosterone and some aromatic steroidal analogues that can be easily iodinated ( Figure 1). The complex information encoded within the steroid hormone molecule is contained within such a small structure that substituents often interfere with the exquisitely sensitive interaction of the hormone with its receptor.…”

“…0.50 g of a mixture of ASu and 2G with a desired composition, which was previously dissolved in 9.50 mL of organic solvents (EPN or a mixture of EPN and DMF), was filled into a glass vessel and then the vessel was stoppered after nitrogen gas was bubbled through the solution. The irradiation for polymerization was carried out for 3 hours at a dose rate of 10 kGy/h with y-rays from a 6oCo source, a t 25°C without stirring. During the irradiation, the monomer solution was changed from homogeneous state to heterogeneous state.…”
