Abstract:Este artigo destaca, na comédia Guerras do Alecrim e Manjerona, de Antônio José da Silva, mais conhecido como o Judeu, algumas referências ao carnaval ou ao entrudo português do século 18, como a música, a dança e os ranchos rivais de foliões. As análises e reflexões estarão centradas principalmente no gracioso, ou no bufão Semicúpio, uma vez que ele conduz, por meio de zombarias e sátiras, o ritmo carnavalizado do enredo, travestindo-se de mulher, médico e juiz.
