In Georgia, region of Adjara is very important process of cultivation of blueberry plantations, which the blueberry replaced tea plantations.Agriculture and agrarian policy development is a priority area of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in Georgia and is one of the main source of income for the rural population. Moreover, the main function is to promote food security in the region and to improve the socio-economic situation of the rural population, which are depend on the increase of competitiveness of local production, introduction of modern agrotechnologies, improving of soil productivity and expansion of knowledge of employees in agricultural sector.Within the framework of the EU special program, such a special filed was developed in Adjara as the cultivation of blueberries, which replaced tea plantations, and today blueberries are a significant economic benefit for the Adjara region. We have researched and studied what steps have been taken in this direction in the Adjara region and why has become this direction of agriculture in Adjara more advanced compared to the other regions of Georgia.Intensive cultivation of blueberry orchards in the Adjara region was started 2013 and today the scale of production of this crop is growing steadily. Due to the unique of the blueberries, its demand in the world market is also growing. According to National statistics office of Georgia, a total of 668 tons of blueberries were exported from Georgia in 2020, while the amount of blueberries imported into the country in the same year amounted to19,5 tons. Leading Georgian blueberry export markets in 2020 were: Russia (632 tons), Poland (12 tons), Armenia (10 tons), United Arab Emirates (6.5 tons), Ukraine (5.5 tons), Qatar (1.5 tons). As of 2020, blueberries are cultivated on total of 106 hectares in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and in 2020 were produced 147 tons of blueberries in the region. In 2018-2021, a total of 47000 blueberry seedlings were issued to farmers by the Ministry. The projects fund 3 blueberry producing enterprises, which facilitates on -site production of products [1].In the region has emerged new culture of export potential (included in the EU), which last year it's imported 2.5 million GEL from exports to farms in the Budget of Adjara. In addition to Blueberries, the production of other highly profitable crops is successfully implemented through the programs of the Ministry of Adjara such as raspberries, blackberries, vines, chandler nuts and other fruit crops.In support of Georgia's economic crisis caused by the pandemic, the EU and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the Ministry of Agriculture are launching a grant program worth GEL 9 million, where it will be implemented in eight municipalities -Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Dedoplistkaro, Tetriskaro, Lagodekhi, Keda, Khulo and Kazbegi, which will promote the development of non-farm business, AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES MODERN PROBLEMS IN SCIENCE 12 sustainable management of natural resources, mitigation of climate change and increase the eco...

With the expansion of the production and applications of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in several industrial and science branches, the potential adverse effects on human health have attracted attention. Numerous studies have been conducted to evaluate how chemical functionalization may affect MWCNT effects; however, controversial data have been reported, showing either increased or reduced toxicity. In particular, the impact of carboxylation on MWCNT cytotoxicity is far from being completely understood. The aim of this work was the evaluation of the modifications induced by carboxylated-MWCNTs (MWCNTs-COOH) on cell surface and the study of cell-MWCNT-COOH interactions by means of field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). Human pulmonary epithelial cells (A549) were incubated with MWCNTs-COOH for different exposure times and concentrations (10 μg/mL for 1, 2, 4 h; 5, 10, 20 μg/mL for 24 h). At short incubation time, MWCNTs-COOH were easily observed associated with plasma membrane and in contact with microvilli. After 24 h exposure, FESEM analysis revealed that MWCNTs-COOH induced evident changes in the cellular surface in comparison to control cells: treated cells showed blebs, holes and a depletion of the microvilli density in association with structure modifications, such as widening and/or lengthening. In particular, an increase of cells showing holes and microvilli structure alterations was observed at 20 μg/mL concentration. FESEM analysis showed nanotube agglomerates, of different sizes, entering into the cell with two different mechanisms: inward bending of the membrane followed by nanotube sinking, and nanotube internalization directly through holes. The observed morphological microvilli modifications, induced by MWCNTs-COOH, could affect epithelial functions, such as the control of surfactant production and secretion, leading to pathological conditions, such as alveolar proteinosis. More detailed studies will be, however, necessary to examine in depth the effects induced by MWCNTs-COOH and, in particular, the timing of the MWCNT-COOH-cell interaction.

The change in the microviscosity of erythrocyte membranes and the proteins in blood plasma after graphene oxide addition is studied by the ESR spectroscopy exploiting two spin probes with different lipophilic components in the structures. Experiments with charged spin probe 2 embedded into the erythrocyte membrane showed that the introduction of graphene oxide in small concentrations (∼70 μg/ml) into a suspension of erythrocytes did not lead to significant changes in the microviscosity of their membranes. Correlation times of hydrophobic spin probe 1 adsorbed to hydrophobic pockets of plasma proteins demonstrate a gradual slowdown at the graphene oxide injection into blood plasma that indicates a small deformation of the hydrophobic cavity of protein at the adsorption. However, this protein binding with graphene oxide does not cause the displacement of the spin probe from their hydrophobic cavities, which is evidence about small changes in the protein secondary structure. The obtained results indicate the insignificant cytotoxicity effect of small concentrations of graphene oxide for erythrocytes and blood plasma.
