Carbon Nanoparticles-Decorated Carbon Nanotubes

Abstract: Multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWcnts) were decorated by activated carbon nanoparticles of resorcinol-formaldehyde aerogels. carbon nanospheres and MWcnts were mixed by equal mass ratios for different durations. The products were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, nanoscanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction. The results indicated that a significant decoration with carbon nanoparticles occurred onto the MWcnts. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) … Show more

“…This fact reveals that the CNTs are well exfoliated and homogenously distributed in the E-VOH matrix. Similar results were also observed by Tang et al [51,52] on the investigation of rhodamine B-decorated grapheme as a reinforcement in polyvinyl alcohol composites (RhB-G/PVA). This result confirms that of the DSC analysis and indicates a perfect adhesion between CNT nanoparticles and E-VOH matrix.…”

“…The XRD peaks have good consistency with standard diffraction patterns (JCPDS) of the CeO2 with cubic uorite structure[22]. The broadening of diffraction peaks at about 26° and 44° could be assigned to the (002) and (100) planes of the hexagonal graphite structure of the MWCNTs[23].…”

“…A slight bulge in the diffraction peak of B-GA at 26.40°proves that B-GA shows a slight graphite property with the introduction of CNTs and CSs. 35,36 The high and sharp diffraction peak of PEG indicates that it has good crystallinity and high purity. The crystallinities of PEG in composites (GA-PEG and B-GA-PEG) are evaluated based on the strong diffraction peak of 19.20°for the deduction of background absorption.…”
