Carben‐Reaktionen, XII. Ein neuer Zugang zum Diphenylcarben/Phenylcycloheptatrienyliden‐System durch Acetat‐Pyrolyse

Abstract

Gasphasenthermolyse (450°C) von 7-Acetoxy-7-phenylbicyclo[2.2.l]heptadien (l), von 4-Acetoxy-2-phenylbicyclo[3.2.O]hepta-2,6-dien (19) oder von Acetoxy(pheny1)cycloheptatrien (15) fihrte unter Eliminierung von Essigssure zu Fluoren. Markierungsversuche stehen mit der Bildung von Diphenylcarben als Zwischenstufe im Einklang. Labelling experiments are consistent with the formation of diphenylcdrbene as an intermediate in these reactions.Im folgenden berichten wir iiber das thermische Verhalten von 7-Acetoxy-7-phenylbicyclo[2.2.l]heptadien (l), das wir mit der Zielsetzung untersuchten, durch Cycloeliminierung 2, zum Acetoxy(pheny1)carben zu gelangen. C8H5X0Ac 1 Anstelle dieser Reaktion beobachteten wir eine Spaltung des Molekiils in Fluoren und Essigsaure. Synthese und Thermolyse von 7-Acetoxy-7-phenylnorbrnadien (1) wurde nach Breazeule4. ') in 3 ubergefuhrt. Durch Anionisierung mit Butyllithium und anschlieBende Acetylierung gewdnn man nahezu quantitativ 4, Quadricyclanon (2) XI. , J. Am. Chem. SOC. 95, 826 (1973); s.
