RESUMOAtualmente, muito tem se discutido sobre a importância de recuperação de áreas com vegetação nativa, visto o aumento crescente da destruição de ecossistemas em todas as regiões do Brasil. No tocante ao assunto, uma grande dificuldade dos pesquisadores está nos métodos disponíveis para o controle inicial de espécies exóticas invasoras, que competem com as essências nativas dificultando seu crescimento e desenvolvimento, sendo na maioria dos projetos a etapa mais onerosa e difícil de superar. Diante do exposto, este trabalho identificou as espécies invasoras presentes em uma área durante processo inicial de recuperação da vegetação nativa. Foram identificadas onze espécies distribuídas em sete famílias botânicas, as quais são comumente encontradas como plantas oportunistas em áreas cultivadas, mostrando a necessidade de maiores pesquisas para avaliar seus efeitos reais na competição com as espécies nativas em fase inicial de desenvolvimento. ABSTRACTCurrently, much has been discussed about the importance of recovery of native vegetation areas, since the increasing destruction of ecosystems in all regions of Brazil. Regarding the subject, a great difficulty of researchers is in the methods available for the initial control of invasive exotic species that compete with native species hindering their growth and development, with most projects, the most costly and difficult to overcome stage. Given the above, this work has identified invasive species present in an area during the initial process of recovery of native vegetation. Eleven species distributed in seven plant families were identified, which are commonly found as opportunistic plants in cultivated areas, showing the need for further research to assess their actual effects on competition with native species in early stage of development.

In the genus Solanum L. (Solanaceae), subgenus Leptostemonum (Dunal) Bitter, section Acanthophora Dunal has four representatives in the Flora of southern Africa region (South Africa. Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia. Botswana), namely S. aculeatissimum Jacq.. S. capsicoides Allioni. S. mammosum L. (cultivated only) and S. viarum Dunal. Section Ton a Nees has two representatives in southern Africa, namely S. chnsotriclium Schltdl. (S. hispidum auctt. non Pers.) and S. ton um Sw.; both are naturalized weeds. Solanum capsicoides, S. viarum and S. torvum have not been listed before for southern Africa. All are introduced species native to the New World. Descriptions, discussions, illustrations and distribution maps of the naturalized species are presented, as well as keys to the species of both sections.

This study aimed to describe and characterize the biometry of the fruits, and seeds of three species of Solanum (Solanaceae) from the Amazonia. Biometry can help the development of efficient techniques for the management and understanding of the species. The morphometric characterization of the structures was performed from 100 fruits and 100 seeds, collected in the Metropolitan Region of Belém from the Amazonia. And analysis of the ornamentation of the seed scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The fruits are polyspermic, fleshy, berry-type, dehiscent, consisting of one or two locules with the seeds attached to the axial placenta, with five lobes on the end, glabrous, green when immature, purple and red in S. americanum and S. stramoniifolium and pulbescent greens in S. crinitum, when ripe. The seeds are obovoid to subdiscoid, little to very compressed. The forehead ornamentation is reticulated with straight to sinuous walls and the presence of filiform projections. Internally, the seeds are albuminous with a gelatinous endosperm surrounding the entire embryo of the axial type, continuous linear circined to imbricate. The weight of 1,000 seeds was higher for those in S. crinitum 2.36 g, followed by S. stramoniifolium with 1.67 g and S. americanum with 0.4 g.
