Show more

“…pH range was still included in the normal range, a factor that could play a role is the technique of semen collection and stimulation of the accessory sex glands. The accessory sex gland fluid is generally alkaline (Bah et al, 2001;Peters et al, 2008;Tuncer et al, 2008).…”

“…The local black Syrian chicken had a putt size of 0.59 ml [33], while the highest average putt size of the local Thai chicken was obtained at 72 weeks of age. (0.30 ml) [34] and the average semen volume of domestic chickens in Nigeria was (0.28 ml) at 61 weeks of age [35]. The difference in semen volume between breeds and species may be due to difference in breed, age, season, lighting, method of care and other environmental factors [18] or due to other physiological processes regulating the process of sperm production in addition to the response to the massage process when plural [36], as well as the plural method and the skill of the ensemble [20].…”

“…There were no significant differences between study lines for this trait. After compared with the rest of the local breeds, and average sperm concentration in the semen of the local black Syrian chicken was (4.6 billion/ml) [33], while the semen concentration of the local Thai chicken was recorded (2.2 billion/ml) [34] and Nigerian domestic chicken (2.2 billion/ml) [35].…”

“…Prevailing temperature in the tropics is usually too high for productivity in chickens (Abioja et al, 2012). High environmental temperature negatively affects spermatogenesis in both mammalian (Bah, Chaughari, & Al-Amin, 2001;Ordas, Vahedi, Seidavi, & Rahati, 2015;Garcia-Oliveros et al, 2020) and avian species (Karaca, Parker, & McDaniel, 2002;Attia, El-Naggar, Abou-Shehema, & Abdella, 2019) during heat stress (HS). Poor fertility in broiler breeder eggs is mostly related to male birds, even though females may be responsible for the flock fertility decline (Hocking & Bernard, 2000;Habibian, Ghazi, Moeini, & Abdolmohammadi, 2014).…”
