Capillary-based chemiluminescence immunoassay for C-reactive protein with portable imaging device

Abstract: A capillary-based chemiluminescence immunoassay system using a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera as detector was established in this paper. The fused quartz capillary was easily activated in one step for immobilizing capture antibody, and the chemiluminescence immunoassay was carried out in the capillary in double-antibody sandwich format. Chemiluminescence signals were recorded by the portable imaging device which was installed with the CCD camera and the results were analyzed through gray intensity. The tot… Show more

“…2 The most widely used CRP diagnostic methods are antibody-based assays. 2 At present, several techniques including the use of a capacitive biosensor, 3 microuidic biosensor, 4-6 electrochemical biosensor, [7][8][9] sandwich immunoassay, 10,11 uorescent biosensor, 12 chemiluminescence immunoassay, 13 micro-uxgate sensor, 14 ber optic biosensor, 15 magnetoimpedancebased biosensor, 16 nanowire-mesh biosensor 17 and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy 18 have been developed for the detection of CRP. However, these methods for CRP detection are usually time-consuming, labor-intensive, complex in operation or preparation and involve expensive reagents.…”
