“…CNT are microscopic molecules which are held together by a very strong bond. They are very small particles (diameter 20-40nm, length 1-10m, density 0.15-0.35 g/cm 3 , surface area 35m 2 /g) with carbon purity above 90% and its typically 100 times stronger than the steel so adding carbon nanotube in any concrete mix can reduce or eliminate the usage of the steel reinforcement [2]. The use of CNT as reinforcing material transfers the macroscopic behavior of reinforcement to nano-scopic level by acting as a filler producing denser concrete, prevent crack growth and propagation at early age, reduce final setting time of concrete and improve quality of bond interaction between cement paste and aggregates.…”

“…Theextraordinarycharacteristicsofthecarbonnanostructures(carbonnanotubes, graphene, graphite, carbon fibers, carbon cenosphere, etc.) have revolutionized thefieldofmaterialsandcompositescience (Hanus&Harris,2013;Lu,Li,etal.,2017).Owingtothegreatfunctionalenhancementbythe additionofcarbonnanotubesinthecementcompositesitcanbetrulysaidthatthey possess the ability to make wonders in Civil engineering constructions (Sasmal, Bhuvaneshwari, & Iyer, 2013). “…The use of carbon nanotubes as nano-sized reinforcement is a very exciting and interesting research direction in the area of cement and concrete technologies. Carbon nanotubes can be rolled from graphite sheets and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) consist of a number of layers (Sasmal et al 2013). The diameter of MWCNT is 10-20 nm.…”
