The evolution of the quality of higher education motivated the present research, whose objective was to determine the influence of computer systems for measuring quality standards, applying descriptive, qualitativequantitative methodology and interviews with teachers, whose results showed limited communication of quality standards because there are no specialized databases for their maintenance, making decision-making difficult. In conclusion, organized databases should be incorporated to maintain permanent control of the evolution of quality standards for continuous improvement.

En el presente artículo se analizó la ejecución y alcances de las reformas educativas de la primera mitad del siglo XX, con el objeto de identificar y explicar, en medio del lenguaje de modernización que caracterizaba el contexto latinoamericano y colombiano, las circunstancias históricas que permitieron o impidieron que esta reforma promoviera cambios sustanciales tanto en ámbitos regionales y departamentales, como en el Sistema Educativo Nacional. Desde esa perspectiva y con base en la Metodología de la Investigación Histórica, se examinan y discuten los aspectos centrales de dichas políticas educativas, tomando en consideración tanto los discursos que las promovieron como las medidas e inversiones para llevarlas a cabo, para así construir una aproximación a sus logros y limitaciones. A diferencia de una historiografía que ha magnificado los impactos de tales medidas, este estudio plantea que pese a los significativos avances cualitativos a los que llevaron los ideales propagados, los resultados cuantitativos fueron limitados y restringidos, lo que truncó la posibilidad de una efectiva implementación de las reformas en los ámbitos específicos de las regiones periféricas y sus provincias.

This study presents a review of the Quality of Higher Education through the incidence of learning styles. The quality is important l element the private sector, as well as for the public sector since it evaluates services, supply and working conditions, and the relationship with the environment where they carry out their activities. Therefore, higher education organizations cannot be exempt from the importance of quality. However, there are several factors that affect the quality of education, being one of the most important learning styles. Generally, from this background, the main objective of this study to define the role and quality concepts of higher education the analysis of the key aspects of quality assurance and its relationship with student learning styles, by briefly reviewing the literature in this regard that allows for defining this relationship and its importance. The results showed through these studies that there is no single style of learning, and that this must be flexible within the classroom to improve the educational experience of students, but that this cannot lead to the choice of a single style considered as suitable.
