Este trabajo busca actualizar los estudios psicométricos en la Argentina. Se desarrolló un Test Adaptativo Informatizado (TAI) a partir de un Banco de Ítems (BI) de Analogías Verbales y se programó con FastTEST Pro versión 2.0. Se contó con una muestra de 108 estudiantes universitarios. Se compararon los resultados obtenidos a partir de tres criterios de finalización distintos del TAI (longitud fija de 32 ítems, longitud variable al alcanzar un error de .40 y un error de .30). Las tres variantes obtuvieron correlaciones significativamente altas (r > .90; p < .001) con el nivel de rasgo estimado a partir del BI. El TAI de longitud fija de 32 ítems presentó el balance óptimo entre precisión y longitud dadas las características del BI. “…The core idea of CAT is: the system according to the examinee's answer, to calculate the value of the ability level constantly, and adjust the strategies based on these parameters in real-time, select test item that adapt to examinee's ability, and finally give the examinee a proper evaluation [4]. Therefore, compared with the traditional test form (paper-and-pencil, P&P), CAT implements tailor-made test for every examinee, examinees who during the test not need to face many too simple or too difficult items, therefore, it can provide more accurate estimate of the candidates ability with less items [5].It has a lot of potential advantages, such as the ability to estimate more efficient, high precision, more flexible implementation of the test and so on [6]. Abstract. Item selection method is one of the most important parts of computerized adaptive testing. Traditional method is based on the item information function to select the item which has maximum information, with the maximum information test to achieve the purpose of accurate estimates the examinee's ability level. However, this method has high item exposure rate and the test content imbalance problem, etc. To solve these problems, this article introduces a new heuristic item selection method. The results of the study show that compared with the maximum information method, with the assurance of the condition of the same measurement accuracy, the new method can better control item exposure rate and achieve content balancing.
