O presente estudo prop… Show more

“…Yu and Yang (2000) suggested a methodology for hydrological models calibration using synthetic FDCs. The main idea is to find a set of parameters able to synthetize the ranked flows, with no obligation to reproduce their serial structure (Pinheiro and Naghettini 2010). This structure is retrieved indirectly, through the evolution of rainfall and evaporation over the simulation period.…”

“…The area under the curve represents the total runoff volume in the period of record. A wide range of uses are associated with FDCs: water availability studies, hydropower generation and reservoir operation, water quality assessment (Cole et al 2003), hydrological regional analysis (Mohamoud 2008) and, more recently, the indirect calibration of the parameters of rainfall-runoff models (Liu and Han 2010, Pinheiro and Naghettini 2010, Westenberg et al 2011, Prafulla et al 2012.…”

“…Several authors proposed the regionalization of flow permanence curves as the hydrological response or one of the "signatures" of the watershed (LIU;HAN 2010;PINHEIRO;NAGHETTINI, 2010;WESTERBERG et al, 2011;PRAFULLA;YILMAZ;GUPTA, 2012;COSTA et al, 2014). In this last article, the authors use the regionalization methodology of permanence curves for watersheds in two Brazilian regions.…”

“…The method of permanence curves (describe the probabilistic distribution of an event to happen or be overcome) has been often used to explain the temporal dynamics of water availability (PINHEIRO and NAGHETTINI 2010;NOVAES et al 2009;SILANS;ALMEIDA;PORTO 2009;CRUZ and TUCCI 2008;BLANCO;SECRETAN;FAVRE 2007;DE ARAÚJO, GÜNTNER and BRONSTERT 2006;DE ARAÚJO and PIEDRA 2009;CAMPOS 2010). However, there are few applications of the method in relation to the availability of water in the soil.…”
