“…The number of released neutrons in Panov et al (2008) has been estimated as a function of charge and mass number of the fissioning nucleus and can reach 10 per fragment for nuclei near the drip line. The ABLA07 model is based on a statistical model considering shell effects in the fragments from theoretical predictions and has been tested to provide an accurate description of known fission data, including the number of released neutrons (Gaimard & Schmidt 1991;Benlliure et al 1998;Kelic et al 2009). It also includes the reproduction of fragment distributions from extended heavy ion collision yields (Kelic et al 2008), and therefore goes far beyond the areas in the nuclear chart where spontaneous, β-delayed, or neutron-induced fission yields are known experimentally.…”
