This study aims to describe the perceptions of class XI IIS students towards history learning at Madrasah Aliyah Nurussalam Tetebatu, East Lombok. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods, the informants in this study were students of class XI IIS Madrasah Aliyah Nurussalam Tetebatu, East Lombok. Data collection is done through questionnaires, observation, interviews, documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion/verification of research data. The results of this study indicate that the image of learning history according to students' perceptions can be seen from the subject matter, learning media, learning resources, learning methods and learning evaluation. According to students, historical material is quite easy to understand, but there are obstacles such as difficulty understanding foreign terms, boring learning, class hours at the end so students fall asleep. Teachers have also used learning media such as textbooks, blackboards and markers. Such media is considered boring and not varied. Students expect learning outside the classroom that utilizes the environment as a learning medium. Likewise with learning resources, which are still less varied. Teachers are more dominant in using books as a source of learning, while environmental media which is the hope of students, has not been used optimally. The learning methods most often used are lectures, discussions and questions and answers, while the learning evaluation used by the teacher is in the form of assignments, daily tests and final semester exams.
