Burkitt lymphoma in adults

Abstract: SummaryThe diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma (BL) and B‐cell lymphomas unclassifiable with features intermediate between Diffuse Large B‐cell Lymphoma and BL (BLU) in adults remains problematic even with immunophenotyping and MYC gene analysis. Gene expression profiling may improve categorization but is not routinely available. BL and its variants should be treated with specific regimens incorporating intensive courses of chemotherapy with fractionated alkylating agents and cell cycle phase‐specific agents that re… Show more

“…Some types of lymphoma originate directly from bone marrow. Lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL), marginal zone lymphoma and Burkett lymphoma typically originate from bone marrow (2)(3)(4). LBL originates from immature precursor lymphocytes, it is highly invasive and divided into B cell LBL and T cell LBL, with the majority of LBL originating from precursor T cells (2,5,6).…”

“…Thus for patients with BL who can tolerate aggressive therapies, intensive multiagent chemotherapy may offer the best chance for durable disease control. However BL is always fatal if left untreated [1,2].…”

“…Заболевание чаще поражает органы брюш-ной полости: терминальный отдел тонкой кишки, толстую кишку и желудок. Поражение костного мозга при ЛБ встречается редко, за исключением ВИЧ-ассоциированной формы ЛБ [24].…”
