Building a Spatial Information System to Support the Development of Agriculture in Poland and Ukraine

Abstract: The space of rural areas is subject to constant changes in terms of structure and development. The area structure of rural areas, especially in the south and east of Poland, remains unsatisfactory. The weakness of Polish agriculture is the fragmentation of the area structure of its farms; this was due to historical, natural, economic and social factors and, to a large extent, tradition. Therefore, the current status of agricultural land in Poland requires carrying out many arrangement and agricultural operatio… Show more

“…The authors show that the systematization of production by bringing non-productive land into the productive circuit, part of the extensive development component, can be achieved through CIM (Computation Independent Model) and MDA (Model Driven Architecture) models in a sustainable way which technically supports the agricultural management decisions and repositions the development strategy in line with the reality on the ground [25,26]. We consider this approach to be complementary to the forecasting model presented earlier [23], and consider that it can contribute to increasing the sustainability of agricultural sector development by combining the two methods. This was also considered in our present study.…”

“…Two important articles in clarifying the issues of the production value forecasting as a factor in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector are realized by [23] and [24]. In an impact study, the authors demonstrate that the SARIMA model (Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) can be used in relation to factors such as access to the transport network, import and export volumes of products, logistical redistribution of cargo, changes in agricultural policy, changes in consumer demand to identify price saturations and forecasting production volumes in a sustainable manner.…”

“…Digitization of agriculture, as in other branches of the economy, which widely use According to Szafranska et al (2020), in order to implement a coherent rural development policy in the region, the Polish and Ukrainian municipal institutions faced with the need to expand the existing system of spatial information infrastructure with elements related exclusively to agricultural research. For this, the concept of building an agricultural geodesy module as an element of the spatial information system of the region was developed, allowing continuous monitoring of changes in the environment.…”

“…Amorós et al (2019) believed that this procedure is closely related to economic growth, since the latter implies the material wealth of citizens. As a result of such changes, both the current and future needs of society in the context of goods and services are expected to be met (Szafranska et al, 2020;Yakymchuk et al, 2021). Thus, the changes currently taking place in the system of the national economy pursuing the idea of the correlation in their structure of both macro-level economic elements and stable structural ties, for the proper establishment and implementation of favourable conditions under which all subjects of socio-economic relations can develop effectively.…”
