Broiler Response on Increase in Flour Leaves Miana (Coleus atropurpureus, L) as a Feed Aditive in Ration

Abstract: Increased bacterial resistance to antibiotics provides a great opportunity to obtain antibacterial compounds by utilizing bioactive compounds from biological natural wealth. In Indonesia there are many known medicinal plants. Miana plants (Coleus atropurpureus, L) are one of the potential medicinal plants in Indonesia. This plant is widely used as medicine. This study aims to determine the effect of adding miana leaf flour to the ration on body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion and carcass percent… Show more

“…If weight gain is calculated per day, the figures obtained range from 46.71 to 52.55 grams per head per day. Compared to the results of the study [17], the addition of flour from the leaves of miana (Coleus Atropurpureus, L) to the level of 4% in the diet, the gain in live weight of broilers ranged from 1437.00 to 1467.00 g / head, if the body weight gain was calculated per day and ranges from 47.9 grams per head per day to 48.9 grams per head per day. This indicates that the addition of ginseng leaf meal was not negative for the increase in body weight in broilers.…”

“…Miana plant flour can be used up to 12.5% in feed without having a negative impact on broiler chickens. The addition of 4% miana flour in the ration can numerically improve broiler performance, where the adding of miana leaf extract produces body weight gain and the best conversion was 0.075% in the drinking water of broiler chickens [6]. The aim of the research was to study the characteristics and quality of chicken eggs given miana (Coleus atropurpureus L.) leaf flour.…”
